Sample it twice

Sometimes, the same use of a sample can lead to the same success.

For example, The High & Mighty mostly known for this tune, began with the successful “B-Boy Document” on Rawkus Label in 1999. Mos Def, at the dawn of his carreer then, and the underground-to-his-feet rapper from Virginia Mad Skillz came to drop a verse each.

It will later be a part of the And 1 mixtape soundtrack.

A year later for the new millenium occasion, the D.I.T.C crew ( Diggin In The Crates) including Fat Joe, Big L, Lord Finesse, O.C, Buckwild, Showbiz & A.G, and Diamond D released an eponym album on which figure the track based on the same loop as High & Mighty, “Way of Life”.

Here’s Joe Thomas with his funky work, Polarizer. Both Buckwild and DJ Mighty used the song intro probably made for Hip-Hop beats.

Enjoy Big L’s flow as it was one his last words as he was shot in 1999 and died. An other figure who now belongs to music legends.
